I've spent most of her life trying to help my daughter find her passion. She went from art classes to ballet classes to soccer and horse riding and nothing ever kept her interest. Until she found something that shocked me!

There is no "rule book" for parenting kids of any age but as the mom of a teenager, I've learned a few things and I feel compelled to share. I'm certainly no expert but maybe I'm doing something right because on a regular basis, parents/school faculty will tell me how impressed they are with my daughter. No this is not a bragging "my-kid-is-wonderful" post.
At 40-something years old, I realized the root cause of my unhappiness was my need to please others. I had a disease and it was killing me. People-pleasers are terrified of saying "NO" to anyone. People-pleasers have an insatiable need to be liked and live for hearing the words "You're so nice". This is my story of the moment I realized I had an addiction and what I did to start changing my life.
